Be a "God-listener"!

Psalm 85:8 AMPC

I will listen [with expectancy] to what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints (those who are in right standing with Him)-but let them not turn again to [self-confident] folly.

My beloved nearest and dearest has impaired hearing and, oft times, although he hears my voice, he totally misunderstands what I'm saying. At other times, especially when he's in the garden, I have to call once, raise my voice a second time and then shout like a common "fishwife" in order to be heard!!

Of course, at that point, I wonder whether he's actually heard me, but has chosen to ignore my voice... Yes, I'm a bit cross when that happens.

Our spiritual leaders, government and monarchy are showing signs of impaired hearing. They have shut out God's Voice and gone their own ways of folly to our downfall.

Believers in Jesus need to syringe out our spiritual ears and as the Psalmist writes: "I will listen to what the Lord will say".

That means not just a cursory hearing or a deliberate misunderstanding of Scripture, but "gleaning the meaning" of the Word.

Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would lead us into ALL truth and rightly interpret this truth to our hearts and minds, so we can understand what God wants of us.

Some folk are really good listeners, but we are desperately in need of "God-listeners" who will not only hear, but speak truth to this generation whether they will hear it or not.

Pray that such Godly men and women will hear and then speak out in our society.

Ask the Lord to make you a "God-listener"!

Psalm 85:9 AMPC

Surely His salvation is near to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, [and is ready to be appropriated] that [the manifest presence of God, His] glory may tabernacle and abide in our land.
