In Him we live

Acts 17:23-28 NKJV

for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you: [24] "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of Heaven and Earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. [25] Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. [26] And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, [27] so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; [28] for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'

Even the most militant atheist owes their very being to the mercy of God.

"I have no need of God" is the cry of their heart! But who lends them their breath? Who perpetuates the earth, sea and sky? Who keeps the stars in place and dictates the seasons?

All our lives are lived out in the Presence of the Lord. Every word, thought and action is laid bare before Him.

He keeps a perfect record of each one of us and we will have to explain our life's behaviour at the judgement before Him for better or worse.

"I don't believe He even exists" is another atheistic statement. You may not believe in gravity, but if you try to defy it, you'll be confronted with its reality!

Psalm 89:48 NKJV

What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave? Selah

The brevity of life comes into focus as we see our contemporaries dying around us. We realise that the inevitable awaits us too.

What then for those without faith?

We will meet the One we have shunned and offended.

Psalm 90:8 CSB

You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your Presence.

Yet it isn't His Will that we end this way.

Just yesterday was 23 years since my precious mum passed into the Presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I still see the serene smile on her face, newly vacated for Heaven.

She had lived her life consciously in the unseen Presence of her Maker. Now she's face to face with Him.

Death held no fear for her, nor should it.

We are all invited into the loving Father-heart of God through the Body and Blood of Jesus.

Until our last breath we have an open invitation into eternal life.

John 3:16 CSB

For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

It's the best invite you'll ever receive.

Condensation over my spirit

1 Corinthians 13:12 GNT What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror; then we shall see face-to-face. What I know now is only partial; then it will be complete-as complete as God's knowledge of me.
