Zion's solid Foundation Stone
Isaiah 28:16-17 AMPC
Therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes (trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone) will not be ashamed or give way or hasten away [in sudden panic]. [17] I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the hiding place (the shelter).
This precious foretelling of the coming of Jesus is the good news that those, who believe, build their lives upon.
He is the immovable Foundation Stone, laid in Zion.
He came first to Zion and to Zion He will return.
Therefore when you hear the word "Zion" it is a word to rejoice about, not to distain and mock.
Peter expands on this passage in his epistle:
1 Peter 2:4-6 AMPC
Come to Him [then, to that] Living Stone which men tried and threw away, but which is chosen [and] precious in God's sight. [5] [Come] and, like living stones, be yourselves built [into] a spiritual house, for a holy (dedicated, consecrated) priesthood, to offer up [those] spiritual sacrifices [that are] acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ. [6] For thus it stands in Scripture: Behold, I am laying in Zion a chosen ( honoured), precious chief Cornerstone, and he who believes in Him [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] shall never be disappointed or put to shame.

People are searching for something solid on which to build their lives, their hopes and dreams.
Jesus is that Foundation, relying on and believing in Him will make you (no matter how vulnerable and insignificant you feel) unshakable!
Governments come and go, but the Government of the Lord Jesus is forever. His pronouncements are reliable and true. You can rely on His authenticity. There is no corruption in Him.
People are fallible - never build your hopes on any leader, no matter how charismatic they are, or you will come crashing down.
Build on the Rock of Christ Jesus and you'll never be put to shame.
It seems that God is doing some "strange work" via His judgement at the moment. So, the only safe shelter is in the Foundation that the Lord has laid in Jesus.
Isaiah 28:21-22 AMPC
[21] For the Lord will rise up as on Mount Perazim, He will be wrathful as in the Valley of Gibeon, that He may do His work, His strange work, and bring to pass His act, His strange act. [22] Now therefore do not be scoffers, lest the bands which bind you be made strong; for a decree of destruction have I heard from the Lord God of hosts upon the whole land and the whole earth.
