These words are from Keith Green's song "Asleep in the Light", they're an indictment on us Christians [yes, me too] who fail to care about the lost - who are content in the bubble of cosy fellowship, failing to reach out to those who don't believe.

"Ouch!" That cuts deep!

What did Jesus say to the Laodiceans?

Revelation 3:17 NLT

You say, 'I am rich. I have everything I want. I don't need a thing!' And you don't realise that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.

We are called to be like our Saviour - red hot with compassion and brim full of zeal for His Kingdom, not complacently taking it easy, oblivious to hurting, lost people around us.

It's hard to sleep with the light shining in - trust me, I tried it yesterday morning - I had to cover my eyes with the duvet around 5:00 in the early morning to block out the sun.

Spiritually we have to cover our eyes to the Light of the Word, to block out the Son's rays that penetrate so deep.

Is Jesus trying to wake us up in this last hour?

I'm so hard to wake, after calling my name multiple times with increasingly louder voice, my nearest and dearest resorts to sending our giant pup to unceremoniously jump on me, scratching the duvet off me with his huge powerful paws!

A rude awakening indeed!

Perhaps that's what we Christians need in order to wake us up.... something so radical that we can't just stay asleep.

Revelation 3:18-19 NLT

So I advise you to buy gold from Me - gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich.
