Exodus 13:20-22 NKJV

So they took their journey from Succoth and camped in Etham at the edge of the wilderness. [21] And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. [22] He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.

Do I appreciate the Lord's constant Presence in my life or do I think that He's only with me sporadically?

During the exodus from Egypt, the Lord was constantly leading and protecting the Hebrew people. His Presence manifested in differing ways according to the circumstances.

He led from the front in cloud by day, giving shade from the burning sun. By night He was a fire to light up the darkness and give warmth from the chill of the wilderness.

God knows exactly how we need to be led in each season of our lives.

When the enemy pursued the people, with evil intent, to bring them back into captivity - then the Lord became their rear-guard. He stood between them and the Egyptian army.

Exodus 14:19-20 NKJV

And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. [20] So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.

We, who live in the dispensation of grace, have not just the same Presence, but the Promise of Jesus:

Matthew 28:18-20 NKJV

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in Heaven and on Earth. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I Am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

Whatever you face today, know that the Lord has your front and back, a constant Guide & Protector.
