Bread of Life

John 6:35 AMPC

Jesus replied, I AM the Bread of Life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and he who believes in and cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me will never thirst any more (at any time).

John 6:48-51 AMPC

I AM the Bread of Life [that gives life - the Living Bread]. [49] Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and [yet] they died. [50] [But] this is the Bread that comes down from Heaven, so that [any]one may eat of it and never die. [51] I [Myself] AM this Living Bread that came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body).

Coming to faith in Jesus we receive Living Bread - bread to sustain our own life in this world and the next.

In Him we have more than enough, plus "bread" to break off and to share with hungry souls around.

People are spiritually starving looking for meaning and belonging.

Yet the message Jesus shared was offensive to many, causing lots of followers to desert Him back then.

It's a distinctive, enigmatical saying - words of eternal life.

How do we eat of Jesus?

Well, He gave us the last supper, where He broke the unleavened bread and said "take, eat, this is My Body given for you".

We eat the fresh bread of God's Word, in bite size pieces, to give us direction and nourishment on a daily basis.

There's nothing stale about Jesus, His love is new every morning. He's always moving, inspiring, creating new opportunities and solutions.

If life has gone stale - you're probably eating "yesterday's bread".

Ask Jesus for His fresh Bread of Life, He offers it freely to all who will believe.
