Don't stop praying

Ecclesiastes 11:1 NKJV

Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days.

Prayer is like throwing bread on the waters of God's unfathomable loving kindness.

Yesterday some of that "bread" came "floating back" to me after many days.

It was a prayer request that I had been repeating off and on for quite a few months. It seemed hopeless, but I prayed it anyway, but not with any great faith or conviction.

Yet, there it came, unexpectedly in an email. The miracle was unfolding.

Of course, it spurred my faith to carry on interceding in that situation until the complete reconciliation is fulfilled.

This precious chapter is a great one for encouraging persistent prayer:

Ecclesiastes 11:4-6 NKJV

He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap. [5] As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything. [6] In the morning sow your seed, And in the evening do not withhold your hand; For you do not know which will prosper, Either this or that, Or whether both alike will be good.

I say to my soul: "Don't stop praying. Sow the seed prayers in the morning, throughout the day and at night.

We don't understand the ways of the Lord, but we do know that He is listening. There are huge "bowls" in Heaven which are full of the prayers we pray. God, in His wisdom, has chosen to work through the prayers of His people.

So don't stop, fellow believers - keep on keeping on - for the answer will come.

Galatians 6:9 NKJV

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

What did our precious Saviour exhort us:

Luke 18:1 NKJV

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart...
