God's Cloud

2 Chronicles 5:13-14 NKJV

Indeed, it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is good, For His mercy endures forever," that the House, the House of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, [14] so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the Glory of the LORD filled the House of God.

God's cloud is precious and stops us in our tracks.

At the dedication of the Temple, the praise was in unison, hearts were as one, so that God's cloud descended and filled the Temple with the Glory of the Lord's Presence.

What a wonderful event that must have been - as a holy hush fell upon the people.

So it is today, as we come in worship as one - there is a unique silence as the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus.

We read of how many thousands of animals were sacrificed during that dedication:

2 Chronicles 7:4-5 NKJV

Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD. [5] King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the House of God.

Yet, Hebrews 10:4 NKJV tells us:

For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Yet those incomplete sacrifices brought forth God's cloudy Presence!

Now, we have a Sacrifice that was made once for all in the precious Blood of Jesus. How much more should we praise and thank Him in the "temples of our hearts".

O that God's cloud would so envelope our lives that it would stop others in their tracks to experience the Presence of the Holy Spirit glorifying the living Lord Jesus.

Sadly some of the buildings which were dedicated to Jesus have been infiltrated with false gods, in the name of diversity, introducing a very different cloud desecrating these places.

Pray for renewed dedicated hearts to honour our Precious Saviour in thought, word and deed.
