Matthew 24:30 NKJV
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in Heaven, and then all the tribes of the Earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory.
Matthew 26:64 NKJV
Jesus said to him, "It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of Heaven."
Psalm 97:1-2 NKJV
The LORD reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad! [2] Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
Biblical clouds are prophetic in nature. They will herald the return of our great Lord and Saviour Jesus, the Christ.

Even as He was being tried by the Sanhedrin, Jesus boldly pronounced that He is The Messiah and will return triumphantly in the clouds.
We know that Death couldn't hold Him, He burst forth from the tomb and showed Himself to many.
After forty days the clouds received Him as He ascended to Heaven:
Acts 1:9 NKJV
Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
Angels stood at their side to inform them:
Acts 1:11 NKJV
"Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into Heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into Heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into Heaven."
That's why we're told to "look up" when all that Jesus prophecised takes place - because He's returning in the clouds! Hallelujah!
First there will be the Appearing of Jesus (separate from His Return):
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NKJV
For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. [17] Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
This "Appearing" is to take believers from the Earth prior to the Tribulation period described in Revelation.
We will be taken up together with believers past and present into the clouds (sounds a bit fantastical, doesn't it!) to be forever with the Lord.
The Second Coming of Jesus is to set up His Kingdom on Earth and reign from Jerusalem - as prophesied in Psalm 97 and as proclaimed before the Sanhedrin.
What blessed clouds are coming! Look up!
