1 Samuel 16:7 NLT

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

Don't we all do this - see someone's appearance and make our judgement of that person?

Our God has unique perspective on each and every person. He sees as no one else does. He knows the intentions and purposes of the heart - my heart, your heart!

That's pretty scary, isn't it?

The Lord knows us better than we know our self!

Look what David's brother thought of him as he came to see Goliath at the battle front:

1 Samuel 17:28 NLT

But when David's oldest brother, Eliab, heard David talking to the men, he was angry. "What are you doing around here anyway?" he demanded. "What about those few sheep you're supposed to be taking care of? I know about your pride and deceit. You just want to see the battle!"

Eliab totally misunderstood David's intentions.

Sometimes those closest to us in blood are the ones who disparage us. That's hard to take.

From David's response we learn that this wasn't the first time he had been misjudged:

1 Samuel 17:29 NLT

"What have I done now?" David replied. "I was only asking a question!"

Today if you have been wrongly accused or misinterpreted - take courage - God sees your heart and is with you even if others look down on you and your work.

1 Samuel 17:28 NKJV

“Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness?"

Your work may seem insignificant to those around you, but the Lord knows you, sees you and will use you to slay giants!
