Heralding Clouds

Revelation 1:4-8 NKJV

John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, [5] and from Jesus Christ, the Faithful Witness, the Firstborn from the dead, and the Ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, [6] and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. [7] Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. [8] "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

Those are going to be such blessed clouds, clouds that welcome the Lord Jesus back to the Earth.

I love to sit and watch clouds forming shapes in the sky - I can see maps, animals, birds and a plethora of signs in the sky, although my nearest and dearest struggles to see what I do!

But I can only imagine the kinds of clouds that will bear the King of kings on their cotton wool carpet, heralding His Triumphal Return to judge the nations.

Will they be dark clouds, white clouds or shining clouds with lightning lighting them up?

Who knows?

But the nations, including those who crucified Him, will mourn and be ashamed that they trashed Him and treated Him so cruelly, rejecting Him.

"Every eye will see Him"!

Better by far to be involved in the first appearing of Jesus, than to face the Wrath of the Lamb.

Revelation 6:15-17 NKJV

And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, [16] and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the Wrath of the Lamb! [17] For the great day of His Wrath has come, and who is able to stand?"

Lamb and wrath are not synonymous words in our understanding - but those who reject the gentle love and forgiveness of God's Sacrificial Lamb will face the Wrath of a different kind, but one that is entirely terrifying.

It will be to such an extent that folk will plead for rocks to fall in them and hide them from Jesus' anger.

We caught glimpses of this when He drove out the money changers in the Temple. Yet that will pale into nothing compared with His Wrath during the Tribulation.

Better be reconciled to Him now.
