2 Peter 1:16-21 NKJV
For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His Majesty. [17] For He received from God the Father honour and glory when such a Voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I AM well pleased." [18] And we heard this Voice which came from Heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. [19] And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Morning Star rises in your hearts; [20] knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, [21] for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
The Old Testament promises us a Son, in the New He is identified, God the Father speaks aloud to avoid any doubt: "This is My beloved Son!"

....Here He is!
I have a Christmas t-shirt which shows the Nativity scene with the words "True Story" because it is.
The world likes to place it along side Santa and his elves flying across the sky, making it into a fable - a cunning satanic ploy.
In this passage, Peter writes what he has seen and heard personally. It's no fable, nothing conjured up from his imagination. He's about to die, as Jesus foretold, and he wants everyone to know that Jesus is real.
He walked and talked with Him, recognised Him as Messiah and God's Son:
Matthew 16:16 NKJV
Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
He denied Him after stating that he would die with Him. He was restored and commissioned by Him as a leader of his brother disciples.
John 21:17 NKJV
He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?" Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, "Do you love Me?" And he said to Him, "Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed My sheep.
So he speaks out plainly declaring that Jesus is the One who fulfills Old Testament prophecies absolutely!
Right now we celebrate His first arrival on the scene and await the glorious second coming to establish His Kingdom forever.
Hallelujah - can't wait!
