1 John 1:5-7 NLT
This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in Him at all. [6] So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. [7] But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.
Rom Braslavski, recently released from the tunnels in Gaza, after more than 2 years in darkness, can't stop staring at the sky and drinking in the light.

He had been kept in darkness, starved, tortured and lied to, by his captors, sometimes even with dead bodies around him.
Now he wants to bask in his freedom and get as far away from darkness as possible.
Bless him, it's hard to conceive what he's been through, as we pray for his complete healing and rehabilitation.
No one would expect him to return voluntarily to those hideous tunnel, would they?
He says all he wants is "the sky, the sun and air" - all he wants is freedom!
Yet, inexplicably, it happens that some believers return to the darkness from which they have been rescued by Jesus!
We need to yearn more and more for the light, just like Rom yearns for physical light. Let's bask in Jesus' spiritual light daily, moment by moment.
Ephesians 5:10-14 NLT
Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. [11] Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. [12] It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. [13] But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, [14] for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, "Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light."
Here, in the UK, we see that the evils of the grooming gangs, which have happened in darkness for years, are at last being brought out into the light - exposing the vileness of the crimes.
Hallelujah for Jesus, the Light that shines in this current darkness:
John 1:4-5 NLT
The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. [5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.
