Psalm 32:8 AMPC
I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
"I'm watching you!"
What does that mean to me?
Perhaps I'd like to say to a nosey neighbour, mind your own business, it's nothing to do with you.
But, when the Lord says it, He says it with love, not to be intrusive, but to shield and protect me from danger.
That's the daily care that He extends to me as His child. It's a wonderful consoling Eye He keeps on me.
When Hagar wondered out in the desert, running away from the cruelty of Sarai, thinking she was destined to die, the Lord showed up...
Genesis 16:7,11 AMPC
But the Angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness on the road to Shur. [11] And the Angel of the Lord continued, See now, you are with child and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Ishmael [God hears], because the Lord has heard and paid attention to your affliction.
Certainly Hagar wasn't perfect, but even in our imperfections, God's mercy finds us, especially when we've been unfairly treated.
Genesis 16:13-14 AMPC
So she called the name of the Lord Who spoke to her, You are a God of seeing, for she said, Have I [not] even here [in the wilderness] looked upon Him Who sees me [and lived]? Or have I here also seen [the future purposes or designs of] Him Who sees me? [14] Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi [A well to the Living One Who sees me]; it is between Kadesh and Bered.
Far in the future another lone woman came to a well, where Jesus sat waiting for her.
He saw her life of many partners and her weary soul, longing for belonging.
He told her plainly that He was the Messiah and she gladly became a good news sharer
John 4:28-29 NLT
The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, [29] "Come and see a Man who told me everything I ever did! Could He possibly be the Messiah?"
Knowing that the Lord sees what no one else does, without misunderstanding, is the greatest gift we can receive.
He sees and finds us in our own wildernesses and gives the hope, comfort and guidance that no one else can.
Gabriel Jesus, the footballer, had been out injured for a year. Arsenal fans had almost forgotten him!
Last night 59 seconds after he came on, he scored a beautiful goal. He ripped off his shirt in sheer delight, revealing a t-shirt that stated "I belong to Jesus".

As he was interviewed he gave the glory to Jesus who had been with him during his wilderness and shared how He helped him overcome.
The God who sees wants to intervene and give hope into each and every life - reach out He's waiting for you.
