Rain

Isaiah 55:10-11 NKJV

"For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, [11] So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

The shattering noise of the pouring rain assaults my ears as I sit here in the conservatory - it can't be stopped.

The Lord compares that to His Word, as He speaks, it WILL accomplish His purpose and won't return void.

This is mega encouraging to us when we feel that the world is spinning out of control and we are powerless to do anything about it.

Over and above the chaotic cries of the nations rises the Word of the Lord.

Right NOW, yes now, when everything is in such a mess, God is working out His purposes.

He may use fierce storms to achieve this - strange are the ways of the Lord at times.

Be assured that God IS in control using even the wrath of man to praise Him.

Meditate on this fact of faith today.

He is walking on the wings of the world's storms:

Psalm 104:3-4 NKJV

He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind, [4] Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire.
