Jeremiah 23:5-6 NKJV

"Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. [6] In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

We have two fig trees in our garden. The one in the back garden produced figs and was bought locally. Whilst the one in the front was a cutting brought from Israel. Although it flourished and grew beautifully - it bore no fruit, much to the dismay of my nearest and dearest!

Then came Philip, a tree surgeon. He cut a branch from the fruitful tree and grafted it onto the barren one.

Lo and behold, we now have figs aplenty, much to the delight of hubby and Philip!

Jeremiah speaks of a "Righteous Branch" that is to come, restoring justice and reigning in Israel to bring blessed security.

Of course, we know Him as Jesus, who is destined to return and reign as King of kings, not just in Israel, but His kingdom will extend to the ends of the earth.

Then Israel and the whole Earth will thrive once more and be fruitful, just as it was in Eden.

Our fig trees have taught a great biblical lesson.

We, as believers in Jesus have been grafted in to restore fruitfulness to Israel to proclaim and identify "The Branch"!

Romans 11:24 NKJV

For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
