John 5:24-29 NKJV

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. [25] Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. [26] For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, [27] and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. [28] Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice [29] and come forth-those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

Last week my sister's ashes were scattered to the wind on a sandy beach. We watched as the dust poured out into the breeze, from the cannister, framed by the setting sun.

It reminded me of the song "Dust in the wind - all we are is dust in the wind". https://youtu.be/tH2w6Oxx0kQ?si=vJyXuzER9KCr4AxX

It was a paraphrase of Ecclesiastes:

Ecclesiastes 2:11 NKJV

Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done And on the labour in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind. There was no profit under the sun.

This is true in one sense, but palpably not in the light of Jesus' Words in the passage above.

He was the First Fruit of the Resurrection and will one day raise all peoples past and present to come forth for judgement.

Even my sister's "dust" will be reassembled from the wind to stand bodily before Jesus.

There is no brick wall annihilation of which Satan would convince you.

There is, however, a choice to believe or reject Jesus.

That choice will determine our eternal destiny.

Selah!
