Scheming self

Luke 16:10 NKJV
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
Whoever is trustworthy with a little will be trustworthy with much - that's an "ouch" to my self life.
My near sight is not too great. I've been using glasses for a long while now to be able to read and do my work. Without these I can't see clearly what's written etc. Also without those glasses I don't see how wrinkly I am. My dull sight hides a lot of blemishes and saggy bags under my eyes.
With glasses on, suddenly, the truth of my image comes into all too clear focus!
God's Word is like a good pair of glasses that shows things up as they really are, not as we'd like them to be.
I see my scheming self in the mirror of Your Word, Father and am so ashamed.
Please purge me with the Blood of Jesus and by the Power of the Holy Spirit raise the integrity of Your New Nature in me.
May I know that in Baptism I left this "dead person" behind to be drowned in the depths of Your Love.
The old ways won't do, the new must prevail to the Glory of Jesus' Sacrifice on the Cross.
In the Cross, in the Cross
Be my glory ever
Till my ransomed soul shall find
Rest beyond the river
Foul I to the Fountain fly
Wash me Saviour or I die
There is a fountain filled with Blood
Drawn from Immanuel's
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
Wow! the transforming miracle of Calvary has hit me anew this morning. May I ever see myself and others through this mirror of Truth.
Only through Your Holy Cross, Lord Jesus can we be made right with You. There's no other remedy for sin.
Like the black scuff marks on a vinyl floor, no amount of ordinary scrubbing can remove it. There needs to be a special remover.
