Matthew 24:6 NKJV

And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

I had just woken from a nightmare at about 3am this morning.

I could still "hear" the gunfire from the dream in my imagination as I lay in the darkness.

I did indeed feel very disturbed and troubled.

The dream had been one of violence breaking out on our street and indiscriminate shootings and stabbing were taking place.

I even turned on the light in case it was really happening, the nightmare had been so vivid.

Then the calming Voice of the Holy Spirit:

"See that you are not troubled"...

At first I thought it was from John 14 where Jesus says "Let not your hearts be troubled", but this was from Matthew 24 where Jesus talks of the end times before His Return.

It was in the context of wars and rumours of wars.

How very apt, as the rumours and talk of civil war erupting in the UK has been bandied about recently.

Even Colonel Richard Kemp has spoken of it on various podcasts saying: "I hope I'm wrong, but Britain is about to die!"

In the midst of all this comes the comforting admonition of the Lord: "See that you are not troubled..."

So what's happening MUST happen - Jesus said it would be so.

How can I not be troubled? War and violence ARE very troubling!

OK, back to John 14 - that's the key - "believe"... not just any old belief, but specific, devoted belief in the Lord Jesus.

John 14:1-3 NKJV

"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. [2] In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I Am, there you may be also.

Friends, Jesus' Return is very near and He alone will bring peace to this world.

However, I can I have this peace now as I believe in Him.

Not just any old nebulous faith, but real up close and personal belief in Him, whereby I cast all my care on Him because He cares for me.

1 Peter 5:6-7 NKJV

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, [7] casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

This is not an exclusive just for me, but an open invitation for whosoever will come to Him in simple childlike faith.

See that you are not troubled too!
