The Indescribable Gift

Thanks be to God for His Indescribable Gift!

Gifts, gifts and more gifts - that is the topic on people's lips around Christmas time.

What shall I give my loved ones?

Sometimes we buy presents that are unsuitable and end up stuffed at the back of a cupboard somewhere - unwanted and unused.

God's Gift of His Son often ends up like that - unwanted and unused!

Somehow we don't realise how totally, vitally and crucially valuable is His Gift - the Gift of Jesus.

In Him every desire for forgiveness, belonging and peace is fulfilled - not only individually, but nationally, globally.

Isaiah 42:3 NKJV

A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.

Aren't we all yearning for a leader in government who will be true and fair?

Well, Jesus is the Promised One on whom all government will rest at His Return as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Isaiah 9:7 NKJV

Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

That is part of His unspeakable, indescribable Gift - an all knowing, all seeing, all loving, all fair Leader, righting all wrongs and drying all tears.

The song "All I want for Christmas is you" could rightly be edited and devoted to Jesus - God, the Father's Gift of all gifts to each and every human heart!

For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
