Proverbs 18:10 NKJV
The Name of the LORD is a strong tower; The righteous run to it and are safe.

We could all do with a bit of safety right now - so much uncertainty and fear abounds in this world. It's gathering pace, towards the end of time, just as described by Jesus.
So, as the old song says: "O sinner man, where you gonna run to?"
This verse, tucked away in Proverbs, provides the answer.
The Name of the Lord is that safe place to hide when trouble comes.
Yet it says the "righteous" are the ones who run to it.
Who among men are righteous though? And, what is the Name of that Lord?
There are so many voices vying for spiritual attention, again as Jesus warned there would be before His Return.
Yesterday I heard the testimony of Alex Phillips, a journalist on Talk TV, who was recently baptised in the sea off the coast of Eastbourne.
She had been on a spiritual journey, toying with Eastern religions, but hadn't found a spiritual home or a place of security.
Finally, she started going to church and, after four years, studying the Bible, she came to the place of surrender to Jesus.
She had discovered the Name of the Lord and had run to Him.
That precious Name of Jesus is the strong tower described in the verse above. He is the One who makes us righteous through His death on the Cross.
Lord Jesus I run to You for safety in this new day. I'm so glad to trust in Your Name, the Name above all names.
Philippians 2:8-11 NKJV
And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. [9] Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, [10] that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in Heaven, and of those on Earth, and of those under the Earth, [11] and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
