John 14:27 NKJV
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
So many things bombard our hearts on a daily basis threatening to shatter our trust in Jesus.
Just when we think all is calm and "hunky-dory" - BOOM, another trouble bomb explodes in front of us!
Jesus has called us to His Peace - to let it take possession of each and every trying circumstance.
To say inside our hearts: "OK, God knew about this ahead of time, He permitted it and He has already provided the solution. I refuse to be driven off course."
This takes time of seeing God turn up miraculously or quite naturally in the hardest of circumstances.
Listen to the young David's "peace" as he stated that God would deliver Goliath into his hands:
1 Samuel 17:37 NKJV
"The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine."
David had experience of the Lord's help when he was in danger, so he knew that the Lord would turn up for Him and was unafraid of the threats of the enemy with a big mouth.
Don't you think that Jesus had 30 years of walking through ordinary, every day life, learning to trust His Heavenly Father in those "hidden" years before His public ministry?
Doubtless He had experienced many hardships, rejections and bereavements, probably losing Joseph, His earthly patent along the way. He had proved, during those bitter experiences, God's faithfulness and peace.
Are you facing booming threats from a loud-mouthed enemy? Have these stolen your peace? Recall past triumphs where the Lord has saved you and face that new threat with the sling stones of God's Sacred Word.
He will NEVER abandon you to a violent enemy. Keep the peace He provides and see the answer by faith.
Go, and the Lord be with you! 🙏
