Warning signs

Psalm 19:11 NKJV

Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.

When learning to drive these days you have to first pass a theory test which includes learning all the different warning signs on the road that are there to keep road users safe.

If you fail to see or, worse still, choose to ignore these signs there are negative consequences.

For years I carelessly flouted the speed limit until one day a fine came through the letterbox, hitting me in the bank balance! That taught me a costly lesson.

God's Word gives us many warnings about the dangers of ignoring His Laws for life.

Yes, there are hard consequences for ignoring these warnings, but also rich rewards for adhering to them.

Having a clear conscience before the Lord is such a blessing and will fill your heart with God's peace.

Proverbs 14:12 NKJV

There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

We've all driven along a road where someone has twisted a signpost round the opposite way or perhaps removed the sign altogether.

Sadly, that's what's happening in our world today - ripping up God's edicts and replacing them with humanistic values.

The result is tremendous chaos and confusion where people call evil good and good evil.

Isaiah 5:20 NKJV

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Heed the warning signs that God's Word plants along our life's road, especially when facing the Cross road. That is The Way to eternal life in Jesus. Ignore that and you'll be lost forever.

Psalm 30:21 NKJV

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,

“This is the way, walk in it,”

Whenever you turn to the right hand

Or whenever you turn to the left.

“This is the way, walk in it”
