Colossians 1:13-17 NKJV

He (Jesus) has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, [14] in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. [15] He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. [16] For by Him all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. [17] And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Boy, it was so dark this morning. The clouds had masked the dawn with a frown of gloom - good old Monday morning!

I reached for the light switch to illumine the room so I could see where I was going and not trip over the dog.

We all need light, some more than others - my nearest and dearest wants dazzling brightness, where I'd rather have soothing soft light.

The Light of life we all need (whether we know it or not) is Jesus the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Those of us who have trusted Him for salvation can boldly state that He has brought us out of darkness into His Light of Truth and Love.

When His Light is switched on in our heart, we can see clearly the right path to follow.

Knowing that Jesus is the Source of all Creation and that He holds it all together in His Sovereign Power gives amazing comfort in each and every situation.

His Light shines through this world's darkness.

And, each true believer can switch the light on for those overcome with darkness and be the torch that leads needy people to Jesus the Source of True Light.

John 1:4-5 NLT

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and His life brought light to everyone. [5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Switch on the Light of Jesus in my heart right now, especially on this gloomy Monday!
