Psalm 19:7 AMPC

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

Psalm 19:7 TPT

God's Word is perfect in every way; how it revives our souls! His laws lead us to truth, and His ways change the simple into wise.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path

How many people, down the ages, have avidly spent their time delving into books, cramming their minds with lifeless man-made laws, facts and figures to qualify for some profession - to become packed with knowledge - thinking themselves wise in their own eyes?

Honestly, I've known many people like that, who parade their professional qualifications like cheap, gaudy jewellery and are devoid of any truth or real wisdom!

1 Corinthians 8:1 AMPC

Yet mere knowledge causes people to be puffed up (to bear themselves loftily and be proud)...

Thankfully, we don't have to be super intelligent to gain an insight into God's Word and His Laws.

Jesus taught that the Lord even shuts the door of His Word from the arrogantly proud and delights to enlighten the simple and childlike with His Truth and Wisdom.

Matthew 11:25-26 NLT

At that time Jesus prayed this prayer: "O Father, Lord of Heaven and Earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike. [26] Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way!

How fantastic of God to make it like that! He "levels the playing field" so to speak, dealing out His wisdom to child-like, simple folk.

I remember a dear elderly friend, now departed this Earth, who shared little kernels of wisdom with me. She was just a simple housewife with the law of love written on her heart.

Could she quote chapter and verse like a theologian? No, but she had been enlightened by her Heavenly Father and was glad to pass on what she had learned through hard life lessons taught by Him.

Compare that with my KC MP, who proudly quoted the text of English Law to justify the taking of life during the recent votes in Parliament. How God had shut up wisdom and truth from his pompous mind.

We need to come humbly to God's Word for the Holy Spirit to impart truth and wisdom for each day of our lives, each decision, moment by moment.

Our Heavenly Father is so pleased when we do that and happily provides all that we need via His precious Word.
