Healing oil

Isaiah 61:1-3 NKJV

"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; [2] To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,

(This is where Jesus stopped reading from the scroll in the Nazareth synagogue on that Sabbath so long ago, at the start of His ministry - Luke 4:17-21)

And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, [3] To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."

When you lose someone close to you, or when some trauma happens, it causes a deep, deep wound in your heart - that mourning or hurt can go on and on, seemingly into infinity.

What is the medication that's found only in the ministry of Jesus?

His healing oil must be applied, if you let Him.

That wound, that sadness must be opened up to Him, so that His treatment can be applied.

From the Word here in Isaiah 61 shows that He firsts "binds up and heals the brokenhearted".

He wraps you around with His love til the "bleeding stops". Then He unwraps that wound and pours in His healing oil, His oil of joy, replacing that spirit of mourning and hurt.

No one else is able to mend broken hearts like that.

Why? Because He knows what it's like. He has plumbed the depths of sorrow and is well acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53).

He wants to enable you to live again, to enjoy again.

Satan, however, wants to steal and destroy you - keep you bound up in grief.

That grief is extremely disabling, draining the lifeblood from from each day.

The joy of the Lord, however, is the strength and enabling of the soul.

The purpose of Jesus is this:

John 10:10 AMPC

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

However deep your sorrow, Jesus' love is deeper still....

"When no one but Christ could help

Love lifted me"
