Held together by Christ

Colossians 1:17-20 NLT

He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together. [18] Christ is also the head of the church, which is His body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So He is first in everything. [19] For God in all His fullness was pleased to live in Christ, [20] and through Him God reconciled everything to Himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's Blood on the Cross.

Ever felt like you were falling apart, that everything in your life is a mess? I have, many times!

The glorious answer to such thoughts is in this passage. Yes, I may feel like a fragmented chaotic confusion of a being, but, in Jesus, because of Him, I am being held together. Hallelujah!

I've often spiritually "crawled" to this verse in my weakness and trusted in Jesus - the Living Word made flesh - to hold me together.

Yes, right now in my smallness and weakness, I'm trusting in His Promise - none shall pluck you from My Hand.

Those Hands are nail-scarred - forever engraved with those scars of love. I can trust those Hands to hold me together - when I'm afraid or sick or even when I'm stupid! Perhaps especially when I'm stupid!

If Jesus holds everything in the cosmos with the Word of His power, surely He can cope with my little world and tiny problems.

Hebrews 1:3 NLT

The Son radiates God's own glory and expresses the very character of God, and He sustains everything by the mighty power of His command. When He had cleansed us from our sins, He sat down in the place of honour at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

What a thought that Jesus is so relaxed, He's even sitting down at God's right hand. He's not overwhelmed or surprised at anything that happens.

He's got it all in control - upholding the cosmos and sustaining us in our little problems.

Luke 12:32 NLT

"So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.
