Search, dive in!

You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me!

Imagine being given a large ancient treasure chest and just leaving it untouched, never opening it or knowing what was in it.

You'd call such a person a bit thick, wouldn't you?

How many of us have a Bible, but never read it or study what's inside it to discover its meaning and value.

The Lord has hidden all the treasures of real wisdom in its pages, but we have to dive in and discover those hidden gems

Then what about the one who opens that chest and never understands or values what's inside?

Jesus encountered those who studied the scriptures but never understood that those very scriptures revealed Jesus as The Messiah.

"They couldn't see the Wood for the trees"!

It's true that we each need the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of God's Word.

Come to the Bible with an arrogant "know it all" attitude and the meaning will be locked away, for God's resists the proud.

Come with a humble and contrite heart and that treasure trove will be yours in full measure. Each day you'll lift and sift out new gems to sustain you on life's journey.

John 16:13 NKJV

However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Most of all you'll discover the Lord Jesus hidden in those pages. He said so Himself.

It's time to approach the Word of God as that Holy treasure trove. Store its gems away in your heart for it contains the light of life.
